APCE 2007

7th Asia-Pacific International Symposium on Microscale Separation and Analysis

  • Chairman: LI Fong Yau, Sam
  • Co-Chair: LEE Hian Kee

The APCE series is a premier international conference for microscale separation and analysis methods in the Asia-Pacific region.

In the past decade, the APCE conferences had been held biennially:

  • 1996: Singapore
  • 1998: Dalian, China
  • 2000: Hong Kong SAR, China
  • 2002: Shanghai, China
  • 2004: Seoul, South Korea
  • 2006: Kyoto, Japan

The international organizing committee recently agreed during the APCE 2006 meeting at Kyoto on the following schedule for the next three conferences:

  • 2007: Singapore
  • 2008: Kaoshiong
  • 2009: Shanghai

APCE 2007 provides a forum for novel approaches in separation, detection and sample preparation. In particular, capillary and microchip-based separations in pharmaceutical and industrial applications, as well as in drug discovery, biotechnology and clinical analysis, will be among the topics discussed. Special emphasis will also be given to the fusion of micro/nanotechnology and bio/chemical technologies for the application of genomic, proteomic, metabolomic analyses and future personalized medicine. Attendees from industrial and government research institutions and academia are invited to participate in the technical program, which will include invited and contributed oral presentations and poster sessions.

APCE 2007 will be jointly held with the Singapore International Chemistry Conference (SICC-5). Papers presented in the APCE 2007 (Singapore) Symposium will be published in a special issue of a premium journal in the field (Electrophoresis) after subjecting to the normal reviewing process of the journal.

Topics of interest:

  • Capillary electrophoresis and electrochromatography
  • Micro-total analysis systems
  • Genomics, proteomics and two-dimensional electrophoresis
  • Chemical and biomedical analysis by capillary electrophoresis and microchip electrophoresis
